Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need to RSVP?

We kindly ask that you RSVP yes or no as soon as possible, but no later than November 1st, 2025.

Do I need a passport?

Yes, all U.S. citizens traveling to Mexico need a valid passport. Make sure your passport is up to date and has at least six months of validity beyond your planned return date. If you need to apply for a passport or renew your current passport, please visit https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html/

When should I book my accommodation?

We strongly encourage you to book accommodation as soon as you know you can make it! March is considered the “high season” in Sayulita. Please follow the instructions on the Accommodations page to book at Hotel Sayulinda or Villa Amor.

Which days should I book accommodation for?

That is totally up to you! The room blocks at Villa Amor and Hotel Ysuri are blocked for 4 nights (March 26th-30th), but you can absolutely reserve them for less or more time. The wedding will take place on Saturday, March 28th and there will be an informal, optional welcome gathering with guests in the afternoon of Friday, March 27th. If you’d like to extend your stay, there is plenty to do in Sayulita and nearby cities!

How do I get to Sayulita?

The closest airport is Puerto Vallarta (PVR). From there, Sayulita is about a 45 minute drive. You can take a taxi or book a private shuttle. Let us know if you need help booking your airport pickup/drop off, but keep in mind that your hotel or villa will likely be able to schedule this for you.

Will there be transportation to the wedding ceremony?

Yes! We’ll arrange shuttles to and from Hacienda Antigua for guests staying in Sayulita. The Hacienda is about a 20 minute drive north of Sayulita in the neighboring town Lo De Marcos. Stay tuned for details.

How can I get around?

Sayulita is very much a walkable town, with bars, restaurants, and beaches all within walking distance of one another. For those who want to explore further, it’s easy to call a taxi or an Uber to get around. Another popular option is golf cart rentals.

What is the dress code for the wedding?

We’d love for our guests to join us in semi-formal attire. Given the tropical setting, lightweight fabrics and vibrant colors are welcome. The ceremony and reception will be held outdoors on grass, so we recommend that women wear block heels, wedges, or flats. Please also note that it can cool down in the evening, so bringing a light layer is a good idea.

What will the weather be like?

You can expect moderately humid weather in March, with highs in the mid 80’s and lows in the high 50’s.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony and reception will be taking place outdoors on the expansive lawn and garden in front of the Hacienda. We recommend flat-soled shoes, block heels or wedges to avoid sinking into the grass. In the case of inclement weather, festivities will be moved indoors or under the palapa!

Do I need to exchange currency before I arrive?

The local currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN), but many places in Sayulita also accept U.S. dollars. We recommend exchanging some money before your trip or withdrawing pesos from ATMs in Sayulita. Credit cards are widely accepted, though some smaller shops may prefer cash. Be sure to let your bank know you will be out of the country.

Do you have a registry?

We are not registered and kindly ask that you do not bring gifts. We’re incredibly grateful that our closest friends and family would join us in Mexico to celebrate our marriage!
